§ 30-1. Discharging guns.

  • (a)

    It is unlawful for any person to discharge any gun or pistol within the corporate limits of the city, except as hereinafter provided.

    (b)

    The provisions of subsection (a) of this section shall not apply to any officer of the law acting in the lawful performance of his duties, nor to any person engaged in the lawful defense of person or property, nor to any person lawfully shooting in a gallery or a shooting range.

    (c)

    The term "gun" or "pistol," as used in this chapter, means any device designed to project a projectile or projectiles, whether by means of explosives, mechanical force, compressed air or any other means. Included within this definition shall be guns firing BB's or pellets.
