§ 34-71. Hours of operation, violation constitutes trespass.

  • (a)

    Public parks within the city shall be closed between 10:00 p.m. each day and 6:00 a.m. of the following day, unless otherwise determined by the city council and posted at park entrances. The mayor is authorized to cause the erection of such physical barriers as shall be necessary to prevent entry, and all city personnel are authorized to enforce the state criminal trespass laws against those who violate this article.

    (b)

    Special permission may be granted by the mayor for special events which last past 10:00 p.m., in which case, any park containing permitted activities shall remain open until the activities shall cease, at which time the park shall be closed.

    (c)

    No person other than law enforcement personnel or city or county employees having responsibility for care and maintenance of the park shall remain in the park at a time when it is closed.
