§ 34-137. Theft of materials presumed in certain instances.
Latest version.
Whoever intentionally, knowingly or recklessly detains any book, magazine, newspaper,
pamphlet, manuscript, tape recording or other property belonging to the community
library for more than ten days after notice in writing to return the same, mailed
to the address shown on such person's library card records, or refused to return the
same upon request of a police officer, shall be presumed to have committed a theft
of such material and the librarian shall file a complaint alleging such action with
the chief of police.
