§ 34-158. Board established; membership.

  • As of the effective date of the ordinance from which this division is derived, there is established the city community library board, which shall be composed of seven members. The members shall be residents of and around the city who have a genuine interest in the community library, the city, and improving the services of both. All members shall be appointed by the city council for two-year terms beginning on January 1. Board members shall be designated as place numbers one through seven. The terms of those appointed to positions in odd-numbered places shall expire December 31 of odd-numbered years, and the terms of those appointed in even-numbered places shall expire December 31 of even-numbered years. The city council may remove a member at any time. In case of a vacancy, the city council shall appoint a successor in accordance with current city policy for boards and commissions.
