§ 42-34. Roles of city secretary and city engineer.

  • (a)

    The city secretary shall administer the provisions of these regulations and shall:

    (1)

    Serve as secretary to the commission when delegated by the mayor; determine meeting dates in conformance with commission rules, and prepare and post agendas for meetings in conformance with the state's civil statutes.

    (2)

    Provide for publication in the official newspaper and make all written notices that may be required by the Texas Local Government Code and this article.

    (3)

    Forward all applications, submittal, supplementary materials, and agenda items to the city engineer for review and recommendation.

    (4)

    Receive and file all sketch plans, preliminary plats, and final plats together with applications and fees.

    (5)

    Forward copies of the sketch plan, preliminary plat, and/or final plat with supplementary materials to city engineer, franchised utilities and commission and forward copies of the final plat with supplementary material to the city council.

    (b)

    The city engineer shall administer the provisions of these regulations, and in furtherance of such authority, shall:

    (1)

    Discuss with any subdivider/developer the procedures for the approval of a subdivision plat.

    (2)

    Review the sketch plan, tentatively classify the subdivision as to minor or major and recommend in writing to the city council, any land or park reservation.

    (3)

    Present a written report of recommendations as to classification of the subdivision, approval of the sketch plan, report of the engineering requirements, and other related materials to the commission at the public meeting.

    (4)

    Review all plats to determine compliance with the regulations and any previous plat approvals and conditions.

    (5)

    Review and recommend in writing, approval, conditional approval or disapproval of engineering requirements for the topography and drainage plan of preliminary plat of a major subdivision.

    (6)

    Review and recommend in writing, approval, conditional approval or disapproval of engineering and other requirements for the construction plans and calculations.

    (7)

    Review and recommend in writing, approval, conditional approval or disapproval of any other related materials as required by the commission and/or city council.
