§ 46-12. Stopping, standing and parking.

  • It shall be unlawful for the driver of a vehicle to stop, stand or park such vehicle in any of the following places, except in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic control sign or signal:

    (1)

    Within an intersection.

    (2)

    On a crosswalk or sidewalk.

    (3)

    Within 25 feet from the intersection of curblines, or if none, then within 15 feet of the intersection of property lines at an intersection.

    (4)

    Within 30 feet upon the approach to flashing beacon, stop sign, or traffic control signal located at the side of the street.

    (5)

    Within 15 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station.

    (6)

    Within ten feet of a fire hydrant.

    (7)

    In front of a private driveway.

    (8)

    Along or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when such stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic.

    (9)

    On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street.

    (10)

    Within an alley.

    (11)

    At any place where official traffic signs have been erected prohibiting standing or parking, or over or across parking lines established by the city marshal.
