§ 48-33. When two or more houses may be supplied with one service connection.

  • Not more than two houses shall be permitted to be supplied with one service pipe where there is a water main in front of the premises, but each of such houses shall have separate stopcocks and stop boxes one foot inside the curb or one foot inside street right-of-way, and shall have separate meters. Two or more houses fronting on a street where there is no water main may be supplied by one service connected with the main, such service being of sufficient size to ensure ample supply but in such cases each such houses shall have a separate service pipe from the sidewalk and separate stopcocks and stop box inside the curb, and shall have separate meters.
