§ 8-10. Prohibited animals.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or harbor a wild animal within the city, except as authorized below.

    (b)

    No keeping or harboring of wild animals within the city, with the following exceptions:

    (1)

    Animals being kept in a public zoo;

    (2)

    Wild animals being kept for the purpose of scientific research or public or private primary or secondary schools; or

    (3)

    Performing animal exhibitions, rodeo or circus, of which the animal is an integral part, if the animal is restrained from inflicting injury upon persons, property or other animals and adequate provisions are made for the care and protection of the animal.
