§ 8-13. Number of cats and dogs limited.

  • (a)

    Definitions. The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this subsection, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Adult cat shall mean any cat which is more than six months of age.

    Adult dog shall mean any dog which is more than six months of age.

    Kept within the city shall mean the harboring, possessing or owning of cats or dogs in any residential area within the city.

    Litter shall mean one or more kittens or puppies less than six months of age.

    (b)

    Limitations. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep within the city, in any residential area, more than four adult cats or adult dogs on a residential lot of 10,000 square feet or less. Each residence owner or occupant shall be permitted to keep one litter only.
