§ 12-213. Same—Ownership change.

Latest version.
  • The following procedures apply when an established food establishment undergoes an ownership change:

    (1)

    A permit application must be completed and the required fee paid when a facility changes ownership. A new owner is required to call the director and a change of paperwork is completed in the office or in the field, whichever is convenient to the customer. When the required fees are paid, an appointment is set up for an ownership change inspection with the new owner.

    (2)

    If a change in ownership is discovered during a regular (routine) inspection, a permit application is left with the new owner with instructions to complete and remit with the appropriate fee within 48 hours. A change of ownership inspection is done at this time, with a follow-up scheduled. The length of time given for the follow-up is determined by needed corrections. During change of ownership inspections, the inspector will:

    a.

    Determine if a change in menu will occur;

    b.

    What new equipment will be needed;

    c.

    Update all nonconforming items; and

    d.

    List structural items needed to be corrected.
