§ 38-26. Special rubbish.

  • (a)

    Heavy accumulations such as brick, broken concrete, lumber, ashes, clinkers, dirt and plaster, sand or gravel, automobile frames, dead trees and other bulky, heavy material that cannot be placed in receptacles easily handled shall be disposed of at the expense of the owner or person controlling same, under the direction of the official of the city in charge of solid waste disposal.

    (b)

    The service provider will collect bulky items and bundles from single-family residential units on the regularly scheduled collection days provided such items are:

    (1)

    Placed at the curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day;

    (2)

    Are reasonably contained; and

    (3)

    Do not exceed three cubic yards in total volume or have any individual item exceeding 50 pounds in weight.

    (c)

    White goods containing refrigerants will not be collected by the service provider unless such white goods have been certified in writing by a professional technician to have had all such refrigerants removed. Construction and demolition waste may be collected by the service provider for a fee negotiated with the property owner or occupant.
